Well, to make a long story short, Ayn Rand was Jewish!
Since Ayn Rand's mother was Jewish, and in Orthodox Judaism and Conservative Judaism, those with a Jewish mother (or those who underwent a halakhic conversion) are considered Jewish, then that makes her Jewish. Her father was Jewish too.
Ayn Rand (whose full birth name was Alisa Zinov'yevna Rosenbaum) was born on February 2, 1905 in Saint Petersburg, Russian Empire. Ayn Rand passed away on March 6, 1982 (aged 77).
She is known for her two best-selling novels, The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, and for developing a philosophical system she called Objectivism.
