Was Bugsy Siegel Jewish?

Bugsy Siegel

Well, to make a long story short, Bugsy Siegel was Jewish!

Since Bugsy Siegel's mother was Jewish, and in Orthodox Judaism and Conservative Judaism, those with a Jewish mother (or those who underwent a halakhic conversion) are considered Jewish, then that makes him Jewish. His father was Jewish too.

Bugsy Siegel (whose full birth name was Benjamin Siegel) was born on February 28, 1906 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.. Bugsy Siegel passed away on June 20, 1947 (aged 41).

He was a mobster with the Luciano crime family, and was known as one of the most infamous and feared gangsters of his day. Described as handsome and charismatic, he became one of the first front-page-celebrity gangsters. He was also a driving force behind the development of the Las Vegas Strip.
