Was Camille Pissarro Jewish?

Camille Pissarro

Well, to make a long story short, Camille Pissarro was Jewish!

Since Camille Pissarro's mother was Jewish, and in Orthodox Judaism and Conservative Judaism, those with a Jewish mother (or those who underwent a halakhic conversion) are considered Jewish, then that makes him Jewish. His father was Jewish too.

Camille Pissarro (whose full birth name was Jacob Abraham Camille Pissarro) was born on 10 July 1830 in The island of St. Thomas.

He is best know for his contributions to both Impressionism and Post-Impressionism art.
