Is David Duchovny Jewish?

David Duchovny

Well, to make a long story short, David Duchovny is not Jewish!

Since David Duchovny's mother is not Jewish, and in Orthodox Judaism and Conservative Judaism, those with a Jewish mother (or those who underwent a halakhic conversion) are considered Jewish, then that makes him not Jewish. Though he is not Jewish, His father is Jewish , and by Reform Judaism and Reconstructionist Judaism, who accept both matrilineal (by mother) and patrilineal (by father) descent views, he is considered Jewish.

David Duchovny (whose full birth name is David William Duchovny) was born on August 7, 1960 in New York City, New York, U.S..

He is best known for playing Fox Mulder on The X-Files and Hank Moody on Californication, both of which have earned him Golden Globe awards.
