Was Edward Teller Jewish?

Edward Teller

Well, to make a long story short, Edward Teller was Jewish!

Since Edward Teller's mother was Jewish, and in Orthodox Judaism and Conservative Judaism, those with a Jewish mother (or those who underwent a halakhic conversion) are considered Jewish, then that makes him Jewish. His father was Jewish too.

Edward Teller was born on January 15, 1908 in Budapest, Austria-Hungary.

He is known colloquially as ''the father of the hydrogen bomb''. The modern design of all thermonuclear weapons in the United States is known as the Teller-Ulam design for its two chief contributors, Edward Teller and Stanislaw Ulam, who developed it in 1951 for the U.S.
