Is Jean-Claude Van Damme Jewish?

Jean-Claude Van Damme

Well, to make a long story short, Jean-Claude Van Damme is not Jewish!

Since Jean-Claude Van Damme's mother is not Jewish, and in Orthodox Judaism and Conservative Judaism, those with a Jewish mother (or those who underwent a halakhic conversion) are considered Jewish, then that makes him not Jewish. Though he is not Jewish, His father is partly Jewish

Jean-Claude Van Damme (whose full birth name is Jean-Claude Camille Fran?ois Van Varenberg) was born on 18 October 1960 in Brussels, Belgium.

Jean-Claude Van Damme has stated that his paternal grandmother was Jewish (which actually makes his father Jewish). Presumably, his other grandparents were not Jewish.
