Well, to make a long story short, Joey Bishop was Jewish!
Since Joey Bishop's mother was Jewish, and in Orthodox Judaism and Conservative Judaism, those with a Jewish mother (or those who underwent a halakhic conversion) are considered Jewish, then that makes him Jewish. His father was Jewish too.
Joey Bishop (whose full birth name was Joseph Abraham Gottlieb) was born on February 3, 1918 in The Bronx, New York City.
Bishop appeared on television as early as 1948 and eventually starred in his own weekly comedy series playing a talk show host, then later hosted a late night talk show. He later became a member of the ''Rat Pack'' with Frank Sinatra, Peter Lawford, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Dean Martin.
