Well, to make a long story short, Mama Cass was Jewish!
Since Mama Cass's mother was Jewish, and in Orthodox Judaism and Conservative Judaism, those with a Jewish mother (or those who underwent a halakhic conversion) are considered Jewish, then that makes him Jewish. His father was Jewish too.
Mama Cass (whose full birth name was Ellen Naomi Cohen) was born on September 19, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.. Mama Cass passed away on July 29, 1974 (aged 32).
She was a member of The Mamas & the Papas, and in 1998 she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the other band members. After the group broke up, she released five solo albums.
