Was Sigmund Freud Jewish?

Sigmund Freud

Well, to make a long story short, Sigmund Freud was Jewish!

Since Sigmund Freud's mother was Jewish, and in Orthodox Judaism and Conservative Judaism, those with a Jewish mother (or those who underwent a halakhic conversion) are considered Jewish, then that makes him Jewish. His father was Jewish too.

Sigmund Freud (whose full birth name was Sigismund Schlomo Freud) was born on 6 May 1856 in Freiberg in M?hren, Moravia, Austrian Empire.

He became known as the founding father of psychoanalysis.
