Well, to make a long story short, Spike Jonze is not Jewish!
Since Spike Jonze's mother is not Jewish, and in Orthodox Judaism and Conservative Judaism, those with a Jewish mother (or those who underwent a halakhic conversion) are considered Jewish, then that makes him not Jewish. Though he is not Jewish, His father is Jewish , and by Reform Judaism and Reconstructionist Judaism, who accept both matrilineal (by mother) and patrilineal (by father) descent views, he is considered Jewish.
Spike Jonze (whose full birth name is Adam Spiegel) was born on October 22, 1969 in Rockville, Maryland.
He started his feature film directing career with Being John Malkovich (1999) and Adaptation (2002), and then started movies with screenplays of his own with Where the Wild Things Are (2009) and Her (2013). He was a co-creator and executive producer of MTV's Jackass. He is well known for his music video collaborations with Fatboy Slim, Weezer, Beastie Boys, and Bj?rk.
